Meet Merete A Baird, known from the television program “Verdensdamerne”, in a conversation about her new book Memorial Salad, followed by walk in Dyrehaven and lunch based on Merete's own recipes from the book.
“Commemorative salt. Recipes and Observations from a Life on the Move" is a tale of Merete's very special pact with life and the world, unfolded in this combined memoir and cookbook.
In a conversation with editor of the book, Malou Wedel Bruun, Merete will take us through her adventure-filled life as a real world lady. Indeed, the life of Hellerup girl Merete A Baird has never followed the beaten path. At 23 and pregnant, she married fellow Scot Euan Baird and together they have had 13 shared homes from Libya, Dubai, Oman, Iran, Paris, New York to Taarbæk in Denmark. As the daughter of the writer Brita Hartz, Merete has always had a pronounced sense of writing, observing and narrating, and during her years as an 'oil wife' she has published topical articles from far-flung places for Danish newspapers such as Politiken and Weekendavisen.
After a conversation about Memorial Salad, Merete will guide a nice walk in Dyrehaven. Merete herself sticks to her daily swims or walks wherever she is in the world. We finish the morning with a joint lunch inspired by Merete's recipes that are also to be found in Memorial Salad.
After lunch, it will be possible to be able to purchase the book Memorial Salad with a personal greeting and signing by Merete himself.

Skodsborg – a healthy part of Denmark’s history
When you check in at Kurhotel Skodsborg, you are also checking into a piece of fantastic Danish history that is all about retreating for a while and re-energizing your body and mind.
In 1852, King Frederik 7 bought the country house Skodsborg with his wife, Countess Danner, and together they spent their long, relaxing summers here until his death in 1863. Villa Rex was built in 1857 so that the king could hold councils of state, meetings and banquets without leaving the scenic surroundings of Skodsborg. Villa Rex has been renovated with respect for history and is now used for parties and meetings.
